The Hongshan culture, which dates back to the Neolithic period, practiced crop cultivation. Stone tools were used, and some of these tools have survived to this day. The jade and earthenware artifacts from the Hongshan culture are notably beautiful compared to those from other periods, whereas the stone tools were not particularly advanced compared to those from other times.
