Rhee Syng-man, “Best Landscape”

Rhee Syng-man (1875-1965) was an independence activist who served as the first President and the last Chairman of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. After the establishment of the Republic of Korea, he served as the first, second, and third President. This calligraphy reads “Jeilgangsan” (the most beautiful mountain). Rhee Syng-man was one of the foremost intellectuals of his time, proficient in both classical Chinese and English. He practiced calligraphy throughout his life, achieving a high level of skill in the art.
