Oh Se-chang (1864-1953) was a Korean independence activist, calligrapher, and journalist. He participated in the Independence Club and the New People’s Association, and served as the chief editor of the Independent Newspaper. Additionally, he supported the independence movement as a diplomatic committee member of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. Proficient in calligraphy and classical Chinese studies, he left behind many works. This particular piece is an analysis and recreation of the writings found on ancient Chinese artifacts.
