Lee Dong-nyung (October 2, 1869 – March 13, 1940) was a Korean independence activist and politician. Born in Hongseong, Chungcheongnam-do, he devoted himself to education and enlightenment movements, fostering national consciousness. After the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1910, he fled to China and fully engaged in the independence movement.
Lee played a crucial role in the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and contributed to laying its foundation as the Chairman of the Provisional Assembly. He guided the direction of the independence movement and systematically organized independence activists both domestically and abroad, serving as a central figure in the movement.
He passed away in 1940 due to illness in China. His work holds significant importance in the history of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and the Korean independence movement.
