Jang Myeon (1899–1966) was a politician in both the Japanese Empire and South Korea, serving as the 4th Vice President of the Republic of Korea from August 15, 1956, to April 25, 1960.

He also held the positions of Prime Minister twice: from November 30, 1950, to April 24, 1952, as the second Prime Minister of South Korea, and again from August 19, 1960, to February 17, 1961, as the seventh Prime Minister.

Jang was also active in diplomacy, representing South Korea at several UN General Assemblies and serving as the first South Korean Ambassador to the United States.

He was instrumental in persuading the United States and UN forces to intervene during the Korean War, helping to secure military support.

As a politician, Jang advocated for national reforms, including the abolition of licensed prostitution and the establishment of a national university (Seoul National University).

He was also involved in organizing the Democratic Party and the Anti-Amendment Fellowship Society. After his political downfall following the military coup of 1961, he was re-evaluated, and in 1999, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation.
