Earthenware

Jul 17 2024

Hongshan Culture belongs to the Neolithic era, so naturally, earthenware was produced. The earthenware of Hongshan Culture can be broadly classified into ritual use and practical use categories. Based on its form, this earthenware appears to have been used in everyday life and is completely preserved. It is rare to find completely preserved Hongshan Culture earthenware because it has to be preserved for over 5,000 years. The ‘Hongshan’ in Hongshan Culture refers to the ‘Red Mountain’ located in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. The soil there is primarily red, and much of the earthenware is also red in color.
