A short, slightly trapezoidal axe head without perforation. The surface is mostly flat with sharp, uncarved edges. The jade is dark green with patches of discoloration. The axe is slender, with a slightly raised edge, and the thickest part is in the middle, while the left and right sides taper. The quality of the jade suggests it was excavated from a tomb rather than a residential area of Hongshan Culture. Some Hongshan Culture jade axes feature uncarved edges like this one, and axe heads without perforations for attachments, as seen here, are more common than perforated examples. Comparable artifacts can be found in Aohan Prehistory Museum and Bairin Left Banner Museum.
