This exquisite jade sculpture depicts a seated deity with the body of a man and the head of a bull. The dark green jade is accented with milky white patches, giving it a striking appearance. Though slim, the sculpture is well balanced and can stand independently. Openings in the form of holes are pierced below the armpits and between the legs.
The head features upward-flaring horns, ovoid-shaped ears, teardrop-shaped eyes, and a snout with nostrils, indicating it is that of a ruminant. The rest of the figure displays very human-like characteristics. The upper limbs, ending in digits, are folded on the knees, and the legs, also with digits, are positioned in a seated posture. This sculpture exemplifies the skillful craftsmanship of its time, blending human and animal traits to symbolize a powerful deity.
