A Pair of C-shaped Dragons

Sep 9 2024

This pair of legendary dragon sculptures is designed in a striking large “C” shape. The jade is a dark mossy green with some whitening, and the dragon’s form is particularly notable. Each dragon features an elongated snout, a small head with an upturned nose and flat end, and two nostrils. Their snake-like bodies curve into a large “C,” ending with a head adorned with snout and tuft extensions. One of the sculptures has a hole in the upper part of the body. The dragon’s head includes a wrinkled nose, a line-incised mouth, and teardrop-shaped eyes. A similar piece is housed in the Aurora Museum, but this pair of C-shaped dragons is unique and unparalleled.
